July has been a very busy month for us. My husband and I painted our living room and reading area. We also replaced the carpeting with hardwood flooring. It was a hard task but definitely worth it.
In the midst of that, my sisters and I planned a surprise 25th wedding anniversary party for our parents. We had our grandparents from North Carolina fly in and our aunt from Indiana. Mom and Dad were very surprised! We were so happy that we pulled it off.
I did get some scrapping done. I finally finished my mini for Amanda and put it in the mail today. I hope she likes it. I used Cosmo Cricket's Everafter paper. I also finished my Basic Grey Sugared mini from Girls Gone Scrappy. I'll post pictures of that later.

Anyway, I purchased a Sew Grateful mini album kit from her and wanted to share pictures of the finished product.
I had a lot of fun putting this album together. She had me using the iron & sewing. That's the most action my iron has seen from me in years!
I couldn't wait to get started on the mini from our vacation. I created the cover the night before we left for the coast. I purchased the book from Michael's in their dollar bin area. I used Sassafrass, Making Memories & Love Elsie patterned paper. Some of the ribbons are from the Target dollar bin and the fibers are from EK Success that I picked up at Tuesday Morning. I used a bunch of different letters for the title. Some are Thickers from American Crafts. If you buy the white foam or vinyl Thickers, you can chalk them up with whatever color you want/need. I chalked up the "t" and "a" with Colorbox chalks.
I received my July mini kit from Girls Gone Scrappy. I'm going to start working on that next. Then I'll work on my July mini to trade. And of course I'll have a July 4th mini to work on after that.
We're back from our vacation. We went to Port Aransas, Tx. Port A is located on the Gulf Coast of Texas. Zed's dad lives there and has a great little apartment that he lets us stay in. Zed's dad is also a fishing guide so we got to go fishing a few times. Check out his website here http://www.portafishing.com/ .
This is me and Ella on the boat. Even though she doesn't look like it, she did have fun. Alexis caught a few fish. This is one. She was very proud.
This is a Portuguese Man of War. They are pretty but apprently they have a very powerful sting. It was just sitting on the beach.
We had such a great time. It was so great to have Zed and the girls all to myself for a while.
I just wanted to share a tag mini album/booklet that I made a while back. I got the idea from Scrapbook Memories. It was easy to make and I was able to use some of my scraps. I attached each tag holder with thin rope but you could use jump rings.
I just wanted to wish my wonderful husband a happy birthday. The girls and I made you a cherry cheesecake, we decorated the house and cut flowers from the yard for you. I hope you don't mind pink roses. :)

So yesterday I received my June Tim Holtz mini kit from Girls Gone Scrappy. I was so excited about it that I put it together last night. This club is so much fun. I can't wait to see what the next few months bring.
I'm a SAHM to two sweet and sassy little girls. I have a wonderful husband who is supportive of my scrapbook addiction. I love mini albums because you get to tell a whole story in just a few pages. Minis afford you the opportunity to experiment with so many different techniques all in one place.
